How Digital Creators Can Find Their Niche: From 5 of the Most Powerful Voices in the Space
Digital Creators need to find their Specific Niche to stand out.
I devoured what Naval Ravikant, Dickie Bush (Ship 30), Nicolas Cole (Ship 30), Justin Welsh, and David Perell had to say on this topic.
They all provide the same advice.
Here is their 5 Step Framework to Find Your Niche as a Creator:
Step 1: Produce Content
Nothing will happen in the planning stage.
Take imperfect action and start publishing.
Let go of thinking your first few ideas are special. This can hold you back.
Just get started.
Step 2: Listen to Feedback
You’ll start to get some comments, questions, and maybe one piece gets more attention.
The signals become clearer the longer you do this.
Look at signals from yourself (what you enjoy sharing) and others (what folks are interested in from you).
Step 3: Be Specific
There are way more people interested in a topic than you think.
The trouble is you need to be hyper-specific to reach them.
Get as specific as you can and expand from there later.
This is process, continually refine.
Step 4: Iterate
As you produce content and listen for signal, refine what you do.
Double down at the intersection of what works for your audience and what you are interested in.
This a never-ending process.
Step 5: Be Patient
Approach this journey with a long term mindset.
Think minimum 1 year.
Stay consistent, stay patient, keep refining and keep iterating.
Eventually, you get what you deserve.
